THE COMPANY
THE COMPANY
Following the phenomenal success of Dorothy Dobson's exercise classes in Dundee which attract over a thousand over sixties every week, the University of Dundee set up Dorothy Dobsons Over 60s Exercise Company April 1993 to encourage over sixties throughout the UK to improve their health through regular exercise.
The company's philosophy is to promote healthy ageing by motivating people over sixty to take part in, and enjoy regular exercise, thus helping to postpone the onset of disability and disease.
The company has already successfully established a UK-wide network of exercise classes for the over sixties led by leaders trained by Dorothy Dobson in Dundee.
In addition to Dorothy's flagship classes in Dundee, there are now classes in Scotland/England/Australia
Dorothy Dobson's Over 60s Exercise is a not for profit organisation. It aims to promote good health and helps prevent disability during the ageing process. Dorothy Dobson and Professor Marion McMurdo* are on the Board of Directors.
*Professor McMurdo is Head of Section of Ageing and Health within the Department of Medicine at the University of Dundee.
